Meet the Panel 

Jill Dark – VP, Talent Futures at Steelcase

As an applied futurist, Jill Dark builds experiences that shift mindsets, beliefs and behaviors that ultimately shape the future.  Her expertise sits at the intersection of neuroscience, foresight, experience design and human behavior. Her passion is creating the conditions that unlock potential and ready individuals, teams and organizations for the uncertain future. Currently, she leads Talent Futures at Steelcase.

Jill has been interviewed for Boston Consulting Group, Gartner, The Economist, University of Michigan Center for Positivity, and Harvard Business School. Jill is a contributor for Steelcase 360 magazine, Harvard Business Review and LinkedIn.  Jill has also taught university courses in organizational effectiveness, critical thinking and leadership, has severed as guest lecturer in higher education institutions, and has delivered numerous workshops, talks and several keynote addresses. Jill also volunteers as an executive coach for non-profit CEOs and boards.

Dr. RhaeAnn Booker – VP, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Metro Health University of Michigan Health

A passionate advocate for comprehensive, data-driven and ongoing strategies for diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). Experienced executive with track record of initiatives that support organizational goals and individual success for marginalized populations, including design and implementation of Davenport University’s first university-wide DEI Strategic Plan.

 

An advocate for health equity who helped initiate Davenport’s collaboration with Grand Rapids African American Health Institute and other community organizations. Developed policies and partnerships at Calvin College that resulted in increased enrollment, retention and graduation rates for underrepresented populations.

Committed to the use of data to design programs and evaluate outcomes. Multiple national and regional recognitions. Lifelong Grand Rapids resident with extensive community involvement; currently serves on the Early Learning Neighborhood Collaborative Program Committee and on the board of directors for the Fair Housing Center of West Michigan.

Demond Cook – Cybersecurity Recruiter, Cook Consulting

Demond Cook is the founder of Cook Consulting Group, a Cyber Security Recruitment and Consulting Firm. With 9 years of global Cyber Risk experience for clients such as the National Basketball Association, Fiserv, NBCUniversal, and Interpublic Group, he assists with a wide range of clients with staff augmentation and Cyber Security consulting.

Demond works with companies encompassing a diverse group of industry sectors, including pharmaceutical, medical device, electronics, computer, telecommunications, energy, automotive, heavy manufacturing, food and beverage, consumer goods, apparel, publishing and information services, entertainment, retail, and chemical.

Jenai Marinkovic – CISO & CTO, Tiro Security

Jenai is a multi-disciplinary technologist and strategist with 20 years of experience in architecting, building, and securing systems at scale.  She has designed and operated global cybersecurity capabilities in live sports, gaming, media, entertainment, biomedical manufacturing, laboratory diagnostics, healthcare, and robotics in agriculture. Jenai’s worked with artificial intelligence, its impact on diversity and inclusion as well as improving human empathy towards machines. She has expertise in designing the next-generation security experiences necessary to support digital transformation. Her security expertise spans security architecture, engineering, defense, and forensics, and invented a cyber defense framework for large-scale breaches based on American football. Jenai has worked for enterprise brands including DIRECTV, Electronic Arts, Beckman Coulter, and international investigations firms such as Kroll.

In addition to her position at TiroSecurity, she is on the Technology Advisory Board for Beyond – an award-winning design & technology agency, she’s an expert speaker for ISACA with a special focus on emergent technology and cybersecurity futurism trends, and a Founder of NextCISO Apprenticeship.  The NextCISO Apprenticeship is a seven-month program dedicated to preparing women and people of color for positions in the GRC industry while identifying and cultivating potential CISOs at the onset of their careers.Jenai has written and lectured extensively on cybersecurity and career topic.

Robert Turner – Director IT Security at BISSELL Homecare

Robert Turner has been in technology for a few decades, he’s worked his way through deskside support, network engineering, information security and leadership in various industries such as banking, health care, manufacturing and B2B/B2C environments. He’s experienced a wide variety of company cultures, work styles and regulatory demands and has been employed in organizations with just five people as well as very large corporations with more than 260,000 employees.  He’s also been responsible for as few as one direct report, up to having over 50 people in his organization.

Rob has also been an officer in the US Air Force and has held leadership titles since 2000, which means he’s been expected to lead most of his adult working life, he’s made mistakes and has successes. His passion is to lead with authenticity and intent, realizing that his actions are going to have direct impact in other people’s lives.
His broad range of experience makes him extra valuable for this conversation within the context of varied work places.
